- 1 to 1 1/2 pound strip loin, trimmed.
- Olive oil.
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- 4 Soft hoagie rolls, split 3/4 open.
- 8 Swiss cheese slices.
- 8 ozs. Sauerkraut.
- 12 ozs. ‘Original’ Thousand Island Dressing.
Directions:
Place steak in freezer for 30 to 45 minutes; this makes it easier to slice the meat. Remove the meat from the freezer and slice with sharp knife to 1/8″ slices.
Place the sauerkraut on paper towel sheets, cover with one or two additional sheets of towel and press to remove as much liquid as possible. In a large fry pan add a drizzle of Olive oil and make four roll shaped piles of sauerkraut, cover with swiss cheese and cover pan until cheese has melted.
Brush steak slices with oil and season with salt and pepper. In another fry pan on high heat cook for 45 to 60 seconds per side.
Place 4 to 5 ozs. of sliced meat on the bottom half of the roll, cover with sauerkraut and cheese and top with ‘Original Thousand Island Dressing.
